Our migration team and developers sit down to plan the strategies. The step also ensures project stakeholders and we are on the same page. Our planning revolves around data-related details, project specifications, and project roadmap.

The second step includes installing your project on the test server and migrating categories and product attributes. We take about 3-5 days in processing this step wherein we monitor how Magento 2 behaves with your products and site theme. This also prevents your existing store from any downtime.

We then migrate your Magento 1 theme to Magento 2. Unfortunately, Magento 1 theme is not compatible with Magento 2. So we adjust the custom code according to Magento 2. Part of the reason why it gets a bit tricky to give a deadline and project estimation. Thus, we also identify all the risks before giving you any estimation.

The next step demands migrating old extensions and installing new extensions for the non-compatible ones. This will take us a few more days.

Then we use the data migration tool to migrate custom functionalities of your store. We will manually edit some transferred files if they don’t integrate well. You can expect us to build some functionalities from scratch if some transitions take a lot of time. Again, this will be cleared during project planning.

The step is most important because we migrate all store data here.
We’ll install the tools, configure the data migration tool, fix your migration settings, and finally make the data transition. We take a full backup of your store during the process.

Testing is just the penultimate step before going live. We’ll check if everything is running smoothly and try to troubleshoot the bugs in the process. Once the store successfully passes the testing environment, we release the live migrated version of the store.
